Family Wellness

Helping Hands Ministries, Inc. is committed to helping families thrive in local communities by keeping families and children connected to health and wellness resources, including nutrition, physical fitness, a community garden, and a diaper bank.  Our free early childhood workshops are geared towards helping new parents with learning about the ages and stages of children.  Additionally, our free physical fitness and nutrition workshops provide children the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities that foster feelings of self-accomplishment and build self-esteem.  Family Wellness programs assist families in identifying and eliminating social determinants of health.

Recovery Connections

At Helping Hands Ministries, Inc., we utilize Motivational Interviewing and the Say it Straight curriculum to engage and support individuals in treatment, recovery, and their family members.  The Say it Straight workshops are free for individuals in recovery from substance use disorders who are looking for ways to improve their level of communication with family and friends.  The program is also offered to family and friends who support an individual with substance use disorder.  Say it Straight helps individuals move from low self-esteem to high self-esteem, establish healthy boundaries and understand the importance of saying no in difficult or stressful situations.
